I just want a straightforward answer. In Candra Clare's books, do Jace and Clary ever get together?

Really, please, I'm begging you for spoilers. I refuse to continue on to book two, City of Gl, until I know if Jace and Clary ever get together. Clare invested all that time in City of Bones, to getting the reader all pumped on Jace and Clary becoming an item and then what! crap! utter crap! I was so disappointed I could hardly finish the book. Brother and sister? almost ? Hello StarWars. Other Yahoo! Answers are so vague in response to this question. "You won't be disappointed" and "it all works out." NO. JUST...just tell me. If they don't end up in a relationship then I wont continue with the books. I would be too disappointed.
