Is it a scam?

im a 24 yr old women, ive managed to get myself into a bit of a situation after a run of bad luck,someone ive met has offered 2 help me out, i am a little wary of this though as in my experience no one really wants 2 help anyone else unless their gettin somethin outta it thelmselves.I wish i was a little more trusting but find it hard 2 be. The only problem being i do really need a way out , and this is probably the only way. I was wondering if i signed a contract that someone draws up ,how binding would it be? its not a proper contract but would it still have 2 be honoured?
