Is a tattoo supposed to have a milky-like haze over it in the healing stages?

I just got my tattoo on Saturday (really cool). It has gone through the peeling stage, I keep it moist with lubriderm (but no soggy), it has some scabbing in the center, for which I hear is normal. My worry is that the tattoo was a really ebony shiny color, but now under the peeling it seems the faded (gray) kind of and hazy looking. Is that normal?
