Webcam problems?

i dont have the cd to install the webcam that i have so i went to the companys website and downloaded the file from there, after i downloaded it i tried to press the live on which from there i can record videos or take pictures or go live, but it wouldnt let me click on any on that was a on you were able to click and said "cant connect your camera!", i also got this when i clicked the program to open it, it said "cant connect your camera!" please help, im trying to see my parents back home on this webcam that i got but i cant seem to get it to work!!
